Summary
The QED Consulting Bio-Entrepreneur School aims to identify, encourage and nurture people who
are interested in business, want to learn about commercialisation of science or are looking to start
and grow a business in the lifescience, medical, bioscience and biotechnology sector.

Description
The School will help lay foundations for an intrapreneurial or entrepreneurial career in this fast
growing marketplace by taking you through an intense three-day programme delivered by seasoned
entrepreneurs and business consultants.
The School, built on the success of our 2007 and 2008 Bio-Entrepreneur Schools will be hosted by
the prestigious BioCity in the heart of Nottingham.
The School is open to anyone who is interested in commercialisation and developing an
entrepreneurial career. It is especially suited to:
• Recent graduates or post-docs
• Academic Researchers
• People working in industry, including pharma
• People working in a small business
The School aims to support entry of new bio-entrepreneurs into the sector. With a particular focus
on the Life Science sector including healthcare, agricultural, environmental, industrial, and marine
biotechnology as well as bio-nanotechnology and bio-pharmaceuticals we will help you to capitalise
on your entrepreneurial talent, help you explore a commercial route to market and consider
strategies and methodologies in a practical hands on way.
In addition to developing your enterprise and entrepreneurial skills the School will also provide
numerous opportunities for you to network with existing entrepreneurs, investors, and specialist
accountants and lawyers involved in the sector, thus enabling you to lay sound foundations for a
successful career.
