The Creative Quarter is a flagship project to foster entrepreneurial spirit and create a great environment for innovative business creation and growth in The Creative Quarter area and the city of Nottingham.
The vision for the Creative Quarter is to support existing local businesses as well as encouraging new enterprises to locate in Nottingham to create jobs and grow wealth to boost the city’s economy.
The Creative Quarter acts as an information hub and a connector for the enterprise and innovation activity in the city. It has strong links with other enterprise and business support organisations in the city and in the neighbourhoods.
The company also works in a focused way in an area of the city designated The Creative Quarter, which sits alongside the other quarters in the city – the Castle Quarter, the Canal Quarter and the Royal Quarter.
The Creative Quarter is centred on the historic Lace Market and Hockley areas, but it also includes BioCity and Sneinton Market. It is the key focus for the city’s ambitious Growth Plan, put in place to support economic growth in the City.
The Creative Quarter is already home to leading incubators and clusters of technology-based companies across the city’s growth sectors of life sciences, digital content and clean technologies. It is also a hotbed of culture and a home to many of the city’s independent retailers, bars and restaurants, small creative companies and artists who give it a unique character and atmosphere.
We want the Creative Quarter to be the most dynamic centre of entrepreneurship in the UK, known nationally and internationally for its innovation, vibrancy, and unique support systems for entrepreneurs.
