- it helps transfer miracle molecules into practical pills, potions and vaccines.

It finds practical solutions for delivering new developments to patients, advising on what form the prototype
products should take.

Launched by two people 18 months ago, it now has 30 staff and turned over almost £1m in its first year...a
figure set to double this year thanks to a global client list. R5 employs the best in the business: people who
have spent years and years gaining their know-how and then reached an age where the big companies let
them go.

Chief executive Paul Titley said he was "absolutely delighted" to picked up the award. And he promised it would be cream cakes all round at his BioCity laboratories today. He said: "The award is a reflection of the real hard work everyone has put into the business. When anyone joins R5, I tell them there is no shallow end, only the deep end. Winning is great and the staff will be thrilled."
